This specialty PLA is designed for eye-catching decorative parts, display pieces, gifts, toys, signs, cosplay props, figurines, vases, ornaments, and other projects where color and shine matter.

As the filament prints, the colors gradually shift throughout the model, giving each finished part a unique appearance. Larger prints, taller models, or prints with higher infill will typically show more of the rainbow transition, while smaller prints may display fewer colors depending on how much filament is used.

Recommended Print Settings

• Extruder Temperature: 200–230°C

• Bed Temperature: 0–60°C

• Print Speed: 40–80mm/s

• Nozzle: 0.4mm standard

• Layer Height: 0.12–0.28mm depending on desired detail and finish

• Cooling: Moderate part cooling recommended

Printing Tips

Silky Rainbow PLA generally prints best at a slightly higher nozzle temperature and slower speed than standard PLA. Slower outer-wall speeds can improve gloss, surface finish, and layer adhesion.

Because rainbow filament changes color gradually over the length of the spool, print size and filament usage will affect the final color blend. Larger models, taller prints, thicker walls, or higher infill can create more noticeable color changes. Smaller prints may only show one or two colors from the spool.

Silk-style PLA additives can reduce layer adhesion compared to standard PLA, so this filament is best suited for decorative and visual parts rather than heavy-duty structural components. For stronger prints, increase wall count, use adequate infill, print slightly hotter, and avoid excessive part cooling.

Store filament sealed and dry when not in use to help maintain smooth feeding, consistent extrusion, and clean surface quality.
