⚙️ SpeedSetter v2 – Bit Length Calibration Jig

Quick, Repeatable Tool Changes Without Re-Zeroing

Speed up your workflow with the SpeedSetter v2, the ultimate bit length calibration tool for CNC projects using multiple, similarly sized bits. By pre-setting your bits with stop-collars, you can swap tools mid-project without the need to re-zero your Z-axis—saving time and maintaining precision.

🔄 How It Works

The SpeedSetter allows you to set and match the stick-out length of each bit using our stop-collars (sold separately). Once your bits are calibrated using this jig, swapping tools becomes fast and accurate—perfect for multi-bit projects with tight tolerances.

🆕 Version 2 Highlights

  • Streamlined Design:
V2 features a half-shell clamshell—customers told us the second half wasn’t needed, so we removed it, lowered the price, and added more coin-slot positions for greater flexibility.

  • Improved Depth Compatibility:
Refined to work with more bit lengths and accommodate deeper measurements than the original.

🎥 Note: The product video reflects the v1 model. While the function remains the same, v2 includes only the half-shell as shown in the product images.

📦 What's Included

  • (1) SpeedSetter v2 Half-Shell Jig

  • (2) Alignment Coins

  • (1) Adjustment Wrench

🧩 Stop-Collars sold separately. One required per bit.

🔧 Compatibility

Works with most CNC bits and is ideal for setups where time efficiency and tool change accuracy are essential. Pairs perfectly with our Stop-Collars and other bit management tools.

These do not work as advertised

According to PWNCNC, the collar is supposed to be set against the bottom of the collet nut; however, the collet nut can be in an infinite number of positions in the "Z" axis, depending on how far you have unscrewed it. You can maintain pressure on the collar against the collet nut as you tighten it, however, when you do this, the collar is jammed next to the collet nut during the cut operation. When you unscrew the collet nut, you literally slide the collar down the bit, completely undoing the collar's setting on the bit. Feedback from support confused me even more, as they basically said, "Let the bit float naturally, but also make sure it is in contact with the nut, and also don't have it contact the nut when you tighten."

Speed setter

Not going to depend on it for a true zero, but this will make getting them in the chuck proper much easier.

Needs improvement and a sticker displaying gap width.

Version 2 apparently does not have a back door that closes to secure washer and bit. That is fine but improvement is needed if this is the case. The ridges the box should then be made the same width is the washer. It is less than the width of the washer. This means it is not as secure and not as easy to secure everything.
Ridges for washer are not very pronounced and adds to the insecurity.
Also, the measurement between the washer space should be provided by a sticker. Customer can then use shorter bits and just lower the z by that amount to get the same result as the longer bits. No back door, insufficient ridges, width of spacer not matching width of box calls for a 3 needing improvement all day long. I will have to get the measurements myself since none are provided.
I just think for the price the plastic could be shaped a little better to fit the washer for a secure fit. It was too easy to accidentally slant the washer while tightening the collar.
