PwnCNC Masso Conversion Kit – Core
Upgrade a compatible CNC machine with reliable, modern electronics and a clear path toward a Masso-based control system.
The Conversion Kit Core is designed for builders who want the power and stability of the Masso G3 Touch controller without the additional I/O complexity of the Advanced kit. It’s the same foundation we use in our Dominator Core CNC, packaged to retrofit existing machines or custom builds with confidence.
Note: These kits are made-to-order. Please allow one to two weeks for assembly and shipment.
Not sure if this conversion kit fits your CNC?
CNC conversions can depend on your machine, motors, drivers, couplers, wiring, sensors, spindle/router setup, available power, and how much machine-specific work you are comfortable handling. If you are unsure whether the Core kit, Advanced kit, or a different upgrade path makes sense for your setup, submit a free CNC Upgrade Compatibility Review and we’ll help point you in the right direction.

What You’ll Need
A CNC Machine
Most hobby-class and prosumer machines will work, including Onefinity, Shapeoko, OpenBuilds, and custom builds. Look for NEMA 23 motor mounts.
Mounting Locations for Homing Switches
Universal proximity switches are included. If your machine does not have mounting points, we can provide 3D-printable bracket designs or guidance.
Willingness to Dive In
This is a full electronics conversion. We’ve done the hard work up front, but some machine-specific setup is expected. We guide you through it step-by-step.
Basic Familiarity with Ferrules
Wiring is done using ferrules and Phoenix connectors. This approach reduces cost and keeps the kit flexible across many machine types. A ferrule crimping tool is strongly recommended if you plan to trim or resize wires.
Installation & Setup Documentation
We maintain a dedicated Conversion Kit Knowledge Base that walks you through the entire process, including:
- What is pre-wired and pre-programmed
- What steps are machine-specific
- Grounding and noise immunity best practices
- Motor alignment and coupler setup
- Homing, first power-on, and validation checks
- When to troubleshoot and when to stop

This documentation applies whether you’re installing the kit on one of our machines or retrofitting your own.
Compatibility & Warranty
Installing this kit requires removing your machine’s original electronics and will typically void the original manufacturer warranty. Once installed, you’ll have a significantly more capable, serviceable, and expandable control system.
Conversion kits may require replacing original motors, couplers, wiring, switches, or other machine-specific components. Stock motors are often proprietary, undocumented, or not recommended for reuse. Please review our What to Know Before Converting Your CNC Machine KB article before ordering, especially if you plan to reuse components.
Still not sure what fits your setup? Submit a Free CNC Upgrade Compatibility Review and tell us about your machine, current controller, motors, spindle/router setup, available power, and conversion goals.
Optional: Pro Install (NW Arkansas Only)
Bring your machine to PwnCNC HQ and we’ll:
- Install the kit
- Design and mount switch brackets
- Calibrate motion and homing
- Verify operation before pickup
Modest service fee applies. Confidence included.
